Calgary Fish Hatchery Hydrological Analysis
Description
MR Engineering was retained by its client to do a Hydrologic Analysis for Calgary fish hatchery. The objective of this assessment was to assess the hydrology of the wetlands and provide options and also provide a feasibility analysis to repair the leaking cell.
MR also assessed the structural integrity of the docks and the associated support system to provide solutions to prevent leakage. Several Non-Destructive Tests (NDT) were performed on existing concrete blocks supporting the decks. During the survey works in May 2018, two of the eight wetland cells (Figure 2) were dry. Four cells retained water and the maximum depths were in the range of 0.2 - 0.5 m.
