MR Engineering was retained by it’s client to undertake a site investigation in Edson Gas Plant for sloughing problem on the berm of North Surface Runoff Pond and the soft ground surface issue of the access road around the pond. The objective of this investigation was to understand the root cause of the issues related to sloughing on the berm of North Surface Runoff Pond and soft ground surface issue on the access road around the pond and remedial measures to be taken to improve the serviceability. The scope of work involved reviewing available information (provided by client), investigating for subsurface soil conditions, assessment of possible causes for the sloughing of the berm and recommendations for remedial measures. A total of 12 Boreholes were completed up to a depth of 12m.
